About

Denmark joined the Coalition to promote activities that reduce short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) both nationally and abroad. Prior to joining, Denmark was engaged in a number of SLCP mitigation activities through the Arctic Council, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Gothenburg Protocol to the Convention of Long-Range Trans-boundary Air pollution, the International Maritime Organization, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and UN Environment. Denmark has set a short-term domestic greenhouse gas reduction target of 40% by 2020, compared to 1990 levels.
