Reducing short-lived climate pollutants is of particular importance to the Maldives, as it is among the world’s most low-lying countries and highly vulnerable to flooding caused by climate change. To this end, the Maldives joined the Coalition to complement its commitment to phasing out hydrochlorofluorocarbons by 2020 and becoming the world’s first carbon neutral country.
